Collection: The 5th Fashion Illustration Drawing Awards 2022
Fida is proud to announce the 5th Global Fashion Illustration and Drawing Awards 2022. As we constantly strive for excellence and find new voices in the industry we aim to get the best visionaries to judge and oversee the competition.
This year, we will be selecting 1 extra winner under each category, from the student applications.
The 5 category award winners and 5 student winners will each receive prizes worth over £1000:
• 1 year of Fida membership
• a feature in next years’ Fible
Of the 5 category winners and 5 student winners, 1 artist will go forward to become the overall winner and will receive an additional prize of £2000 cash.

The awards are split into the following 4 categories plus a collaborative:
Artistic:
The Artistic Award welcomes entries from artists using traditional methods of fashion illustration and will be looking for examples of best practice. The artwork(s) for this award can represent anything inspired by fashion: designers, collections, fashion shows, advertisements, photos, personal fashion inspiration or your own representation of fashion. Fashion is your own interpretation of the world of clothes and culture.
Poetic:
The Poetic Award is about the rich stories in fashion and creating a narrative, this is open to the artists using mixed media, combining traditional and new technology together. The artworks for this award can represent anything inspired by fashion: designers, collections, fashion shows, advertisements, photos, personal fashion inspiration or your own representation of fashion. Fashion is your own interpretation of the world of clothes and culture.
Animatic:
The Animatic Award is open to the creative who likes to use moving image and film in their work, displaying a real understanding for timing and motion. You can use all techniques of film making from stop motion to classic film making with technology, including: photoshop, ipad, procreate, mixed reality or even cgi. The moving images for this award can represent anything inspired by fashion: designers, fashion collections, fashion shows, advertisements, photos, personal fashion inspiration or your own representation of fashion. Fashion is your own interpretation of the world of clothes and culture.
Historic:
The Historic Award is open to the creative using any technique they prefer to best represent Historic fashion Moments of the past or present. In a fast moving fashion industry, capturing the best moments in history or illustrating a behind the scenes image, helps to document these special times. Artists and image makers have captured collections and shows throughout history and some of the best image makers have been lucky to see these moments, as they happen. Documenting and translating these shows enables audiences to try to imagine the time, place and atmosphere. The artwork should try to reflect the mood of the fashion show.
Platonic:
The Platonic Award is all about creative collaboration, using any techniques they prefer to best represent fashion past or present. In a fast moving fashion industry, capturing the best moments in history. Artists and image makers have captured collections and shows throughout history and some of the best image makers have been lucky to see these moments, as they happen. Documenting and translating fashion enables audiences to try to imagine the time, place and atmosphere. Who can enter the awards?
The Fida Awards are online global awards, so you can apply from anywhere in the world.
All levels of creatives can apply, from students and amateurs to professionals and educators. This includes artists, illustrators, visual artists, live event artists, animators, 3D designers, content creators, calligraphers, engravers, customisers, print makers, graphic designers and more.
