Luxury Fashion design & Drawing online Course

Fida is delighted to offer an opportunity to develop your portfolio with our team.

Over  a series of 3 weeks you will send in your design/illustration portfolio of work and after the first round of feedback, you will then submit a more refined version to then get final comments.

WE ONLY ACCEPT TEN STUDENTS PER GROUP. 

Week1 :

You will learn the following:

• Draw a fashion figure
• Develop a sketchbook
• Understand how to research a collection
• Draw the garment 
• Create a technical drawing 

You will then receive feedback to portfolio and questions.

Week2: 

We would like to see:

Research, sketch book, designs, drawings, colour charts, fabrics, details and trimmings anything else inspiring. 

• Develop your drawings for the collection 
• create a hand drawn render 
• edit and render your drawing in photoshop
• Introduction to Illustrator for technical drawing

Week 3:

Final Portfolio Review. 

• Put together your fashion collection 
• show your work to the Fida Fashion team
• understand how to present a collection
• show mood boards and inspiration 
• present a pdf of the collection 

All the work created will be supported and mentored by the team to make sure you fully understand every part of the design process. 

What you need to supply:

A pdf of your work up to 20 pages or a collection of 20 pages of images (photographs or scans). 

The research work could be scans or photographs .

What you will expect to hear back from the Fida team. 

1 - layout and design

2 - Quality of drawing 

3 - Guidance of areas to develop or improve

4 - What areas are successful and should be developed or pushed further. 

5 - Techniques and suggestions on ways to improve your style of drawing.

6 - Answer to a list of questions you will have to be answered. No more than 10 questions so need for an essay. i.e. what drawing style thinks will improve my chances of getting commissioned/paid work. 

7 - A certificate that you were successful on the fashion design course. 

Team Fida is a collection of professionals working in the fields of both luxury fashion and design plus academic framework based tutors up to Masters level. 

Our Director Patrick Morgan RCA did his Master at The Royal College of Art and is our Education Director, he has worked in the industry of education for over 20 years, lecturing at The Royal College, Tate Modern, MACBA, Goldsmiths, LCF, Conde Nast and has taught fashion design, fashion styling, Luxury brand management and fashion illustration. Working for Tom Ford, Dior, LVMH, Yves Saint Laurent and ran the Masterclass of Fashion drawing for the V&A with Dior.
