Nuno Da Costa

Nuno's work has it's own very individual style.

His drawings follow beautifully strong lines with an artist's eye for colour and texture.

Whether it's his stylishly simple black line work or his more detailed colour work Nuno's illustration art holds the viewers attention through his works sensitivity, grace and pure beauty.

In 2006, Nuno was approached by top international hair stylist and beauty director Neil Moodie to collaborate on an innovative eight-page spread for Wonderland magazine, along with world-renowned make up artist Lisa Butler. That time spent together in the studio became a seminal event, which has shaped and coloured Nuno's approach to this day.

Nuno's approach is built on three main tenets - solid drawing skills, an in-depth knowledge of fashion and an ever-evolving exploration of traditional art materials such as gouache, watercolours, inks and pastels, an approach which helps keep his work interesting and versatile whilst always retaining its clarity and unique identity.

In 2017 Nuno was appointed the official illustrator to the newly relaunched Vogue Portugal. In 2018 he became one of only a handful of illustrators to be featured on a Vogue cover in recent history when his work was featured on the cover of the English language luxury edition of Vogue Portugal, launched at the Condé Nast International Luxury Conference.

Nuno has been commissioned internationally across the worlds of editorial and for top brands in fashion and beauty for clients such as Portuguese Vogue (Official Illustrator), Nick Knight´s SHOWstudio, British Vogue, Chanel, Dior, Thierry Mugler (Brand Illustrator), Harpers Bazaar Germany, Wonderland, TUSH, Swarovski and Caryn Franklin MBE amongst many others.
