"Seduction in Line: Illustrating the World of Tom Ford"

"From Sun-Kissed Lines to Noir Shadows — A Visual Tribute to Tom Ford’s Aesthetic"

The Fida Worldwide Illustrating Fashion Series continues to spotlight the dynamic intersection of fashion illustration and global creativity, and this month, the focus turned to the iconic and unapologetically glamorous world of Tom Ford. Known for his cinematic boldness and seductive style, Ford’s aesthetic presents a rich playground for illustrators—and this edition proved just that, with a diverse and daring group of artists interpreting his vision through their unique lenses.

Kelly Bailey, a textile designer and illustrator, brought tactile energy to the collection. Her works layered pattern, texture, and illustrative softness, weaving together the fabric of Ford's sharp tailoring with a dreamlike, almost textile-informed aesthetic. In contrast, Marta Ruiz painted a sun-kissed lens over Ford's signature sensuality, infusing her work with warmth, golden light, and a coastal confidence that softened and humanized the high-fashion narrative.

Selma Imrenk took a bolder approach, highlighting the drama and seduction of Tom Ford’s world. Her pieces zeroed in on the extremes: sharp stilettos and voluminous fur jackets, capturing Ford’s tendency toward luxe exaggeration with confident, striking composition.

Meanwhile, Lisa Nikitina added a jolt of visual play with a mis-registered, double-exposed illustration, introducing glitch-like intrigue and pushing the boundaries of classic fashion drawing into something more surreal and modern.

Continuing her standout contributions to the series, Paolka Wu delivered bold vector work inspired by Ford’s fragrance line. Her illustrations burst with vivid colour, stylized fruit motifs, and slick print elements, echoing the sensory overload of perfume advertising with a digital precision.

Finally, Diletta closed the feature with a noir-inspired masterstroke: a single white line carving elegance and danger into a deep black backdrop, invoking the essence of Old Hollywood and Ford’s love for the cinematic. Her interpretation of the classic smoking moment didn’t just capture fashion—it captured atmosphere.

This month's series was not only a celebration of Tom Ford’s unmistakable vision but also a testament to the expressive range of contemporary fashion illustrators, proving that style can be seen, felt, and reimagined through countless forms.
