Lumii Design was founded in the autumn of 2021, born from the disruption and reflection that followed the pandemic — a time that shook the commercial interiors industry to its core and reshaped how we think about space, sound, and sustainability.
The company began when Julian, a seasoned figure in commercial interiors, crossed paths with Bonny and Ian while working on various workplace and architectural projects. Despite their different backgrounds, they shared a common vision: to create acoustic solutions that not only perform but inspire. Together with Tom, Julian’s long-time right-hand man (and son), the four co-founders combined their strengths in design, manufacturing, and innovation to form Lumii — a new kind of acoustic design studio.
Based on a peaceful, solar-powered working farm in East Sussex, Lumii’s home houses our design studio, warehouse, and production hall under one roof. This unique setup enables us to work collaboratively and efficiently — designing, prototyping, and producing everything in-house.
From showrooms and boardrooms to multifunctional workspaces and hospitality interiors, we deliver both bespoke acoustic products and full-scale design solutions. We believe in creating spaces that sound as good as they look, with every detail crafted for wellbeing, beauty, and performance.

With over 20 years of experience in interior design, Bonny Coakley leads Lumii’s creative vision with a deep passion for colour, materials, and sustainability. A highly skilled designer and recognised colour expert, she brings a unique ability to translate conceptual ideas into impactful, human-focused spaces.
Bonny’s work sits at the intersection of aesthetics and acoustic performance, driving innovation in architectural acoustic design. Her intuitive approach to form, texture, and tone has become central to Lumii’s distinctive style — where sustainability meets beautifully considered design.
She continues to shape Lumii’s product ranges, collaborations, and interior projects, championing sustainable practices and setting design direction across commercial interiors.
